MY NEW DAWN

My New Dawn

The past months has been a series of ups and downs for me, and as I'm sure most of you have noticed, my blog  has been completely off-kilter. While the blogging days off...  having to focus on work), I'm so ready to get back to my blog and creating content.
Let me just jump right into it...
Done, done, done is the day

Put with my treasures, safely away
Gone, gone, gone is my past
Buried in deep earth, buried at last
Give me a new song, one with great joy
Give me a new heart, that none can destroy
Wake me with gladness, rock me with love
Shelter me always, beautiful dove
Spirit of new birth, spirit of power
Come, Holy Spirit, enter this hour
Never forsake me, never let go
I am your daughter,
Let your light show.

Returning with ARTFELT THOUGHTS.... with a 3ft by 4ft palletknife painting..with a lot of texture

Angles of Prosperity.

Laxmi is depicted as a beautiful woman of golden complextion, with four hands, sitting
Or standing  on a full bloomed Lotus....and holding a Lotus bud, which stands for beauty, purity and fertility.
Her four hands represent the four ends of human life.
Dharma..or righteousness,
Karma or desires,
Artha...or wealth,
And Moksha...or liberation from the cycle of birth and death.

Made this geometric depiction of Godess of prosperity...for a dear friend .on a triangular canvas frame.

Mystic Companion..

 That dark Dweller in brij...
Is my only refuge..
O my companion,
Worldly comforts is an illusion
As soon as you get It , it goes?..
I have chosen the Indestructible ....
For my refuge,
Him whom the snake of death...will not devour.
My beloved dwells in my heart,
I have actually seen that Abode of joy
Mira's Lord is Hari, the indestructible.
My Lord, I have taken refuge with
Thee,
Thy slave.
-Mirabai

Made this 5ft×1ft acrylic on canvas....for Meera.

Tranquil Light

Neither the pure land...nor hell ...exists outside oneself...
Both lie only within ones own heart....
Awakened to this...one is called ..The Buddha.
Deluded about  it, one is called ...an ordinary person?

One who embraces the Lotus Sutra...will realise...
Hell Itself ...is the land...of...Tranquil Light!!

Fire and Ice

Fire and Ice
Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire I hold with those who favour fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate...
To say that for destruction.... ice ..Is also great
And would suffice.
-Robert Frost

Interestingly, the two possibilities for the world’s destruction ... correspond directly to a common scientific debate during the time Frost wrote the poem.…
Some scientists believed that the world would be incinerated from its fiery core,
while others were convinced that a coming ice age would destroy all living things on the earth’s surface. Instead of maintaining a strictly scientific perspective on this debate, Frost introduces a more emotional side, associating passionate desire with fire and hatred with ice. Within this metaphorical view of the two elements, the “world” can be recognised as a metaphor for a relationship. Too much fire and passion can quickly consume a relationship, while cold indifference and hate can be equally destructive.

Fragrance of Love

O Beauty....find thyself...in Love....
Not in the flattery of the mirror.---

Sunset Sails

Crossing the Bar ..by Alfred Lord Tennyson

Sunset and evening star,
And one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar,
When I put out to sea,
,But such a tide as moving seems asleep,
Too full for sound and foam,
When that which drew from out the boundless deep
  Turns again home.
Twilight and evening bell,
And after that the dark!
And may there be no sadness of farewell,
   When I embark;
For tho' from out our bourne of Time and Place
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my Pilot face to face    When I have crosed  the bar.

Sneak Peek...Of The Snow-peak

When I look at the snow peaks
Something in me so speaks :
These white and lonely old men
       Sitting….since don’t know when…

They look sadly at our world
( when fog does not make it blurred)

These peaks….they …well…put in me
            Thoughts of joy and fear….alternately

Sometimes I want to touch
     ….their beauty…..I swear is such
Some other times…. I simply stare
To go near …I cannot dare !

But one thing….I can clearly state
         These snow peaks…..they fascinate !!!

Textured  Painting made with  Acrylic paints  using Pallete knife on canvas....takes me to the  mountain land of  chill  air....COME  ALONG...ALL!!!

RAASLEELA (fun with Geometry)

This geometric composition  was created to break away from my routine expressions of sureal , nature and abstract paintings.  I chose THE RAASLEELA.... for its compositional drama....and the combination of Indian Mythology and geometry ....goes very well I thought.
I tried to use  a strict geometric language, limited palette and consistent yet sophisticated compositional format. The  illusion of depth or flatness, all achieved by employing directional brushwork and few variations in surface finish.
I created the HARD-EDGED forms....of Krishna ....and the Gopis by  out lining them with dark lines .....and extented them in  of varying  angles and width producing multiple fields of form and color that play against one another.
I used the bright indian colours to contrast with the pastels to provide the FUSION in the composition.  The circles of brilliant green was added to apply some weight and movement to this  geometric abstraction!!!!!.

Along The Memory Lane

Come  with me ...
Along the memory lane....
where Natures gifts are all around,
Yellow, green, red ...orange and brown,
Mirrored water that reflex my frown,
Butterflies flying in the dusky dawn....

This 36 x 48 inches textured painting reminds me of my chilhood days....of living in the forest areas .....enjoying the soft whispers  of mother nature. The path gives depth to the wall it hangs on...

Autumn Fantacy

The "Autumn Fairy"  is an open invitation to enjoy the fall season....
The Golden hair and Brown eyes depict the colours of the season....
Hear the gentle Autumn breeze....
Inviting you to share......
The cornucopia of colors.......
Floating through the air.....

Sit back, relax, and ride the wind....
Join the festival of leaves....
See the world through nature’s heart....
And all that she perceives!!!!

Natural Shower

I've watched a raging waterfall,
Roaring down a mountain side.
Spreading droplets in mist and spray,
Stand too close you cannot hide

The flying mist will soak you quick,
Stand back, enjoy the show
Rainbows of sparkling colored light.
But, hold on now, don't you go

You must wait until the night
When darkness falls upon the ridge
The spray emits an eerie sight
And ghostly forms are often seen
Far into the night

I tried and tried and tried to make strokes ...to achieve a perfect waterfall but was not very happy with the end result...untill i found and followed a vedio by darrell crow on you tube....which teaches how to paint waterfalls....

abstract reflections of nature

Made this series of Abstract elements....on small canvas of 20 cm' x 20 cm' each....they look great together as well as stand alone.

Tribute to the Master

(acrylics on framed canvas) size: 36 x 48'
Vincent Van Gogh has influenced generations of young artists worldwide since his time. Today we can see his impact in many modern paintings...
Tragically, Van Gogh died not knowing the acclaim his art would receive. Today his legacy is immortal and he will be forever known as one of the greatest artists of the modern era. Through this painting...I pay my tribute to this Great artist !!!!
THE MAKING OF 'THE STARRY NIGHT'

Spirited Colours

Golden forelock,
Golden tail,
This mare gallops
Through wind and hail
She lets out a whinny
With contentness and glee
For this mare is joyful
She's running free

I love it when a lots of warm n cool colours can be used to depict the inner spirit...Freedom is depiicted by the lovely mane flowing wildly .
the yellow , scarlet bring the warmth of fire....and the blue hue..provides  wind element...
ENJOY THE WILD FIRE!!!
